Another update!

I apologize, this has been a while coming! Crazy things have been a-going on.

I have no new pictures right now, everything is a little all over the place, I will tidy up some tomorrow and have your new photo update tomorrow. (Tomorrow I should have baseboards on in the office, and the second coat of paint in the spare room.)

Unfortunate news is we had some water in the basement. In the property disclosure, the previous owner admitted that there had been water in the basement in the past, and said that it had happened only 3 times in 14 years, the last time being 4 years ago.

I call bull.

We have had 2 weekends of heavy rain in the past month, and BOTH TIMES I have had to pump water out of the window well and put towels down on the floor.  The first time we didn't know what was going to happen so there was wet carpet and high stress and me missing a day of work because I had to keep pumping and changing towels.

This weekend, more of the same, tho I was prepared, and only had a small bit of seepage to deal with.

So right now, it's 1am, I'm still pumping water out of our window well, and changing towels.

And for some mad reason I'm 3/4 of the way through making a can of dulce de leche because I figured if I have to stay awake anyways, why not put a can of sweetened condensed milk into a pot of water, bring it to a boil, simmer it for 3.5 hours and watch it like a hawk to make sure the water level doesn't go below the top of the can so the can doesn't explode and coat the whole kitchen in caramel.
