Big things...

2014 seems to be a year of very big things. 

Devin asked me to marry him (tho I'm not sure if that would be considered 2013 or 2014...)

And now. 

Devin and I have bought a house. 

Aaaahhhhh. 

Holy. 

So scary. 

Such a huge purchase! So much money. 

But!

I love it. I can see us there for many years. 

I was pretty certain going into the whole process that I was more interested in a long term home, not just a starter that we would have to sell when it came time for children. 

And I think that's what we got. It isn't palatial, but it's plenty big, about 100sq.ft. smaller than Devin's mom's house. And she raised 3 kids in hers. 

We get possession on the 24th and let me tell you, the stress right now is astronomical. Devin gets back from up north on the 20th. So we have to go to the bank, get the bank draft to take to the lawyer, and then go to the lawyer all on the 21st. Unless he gets home late on the 19th, in which case I'm going to try to swing moving everything to the 20th. 

So now you will not only get wedding DIYs, you'll be getting some home stuff too! 

I have big plans. 

I'm planning on making upholstered headboards for the master and spare rooms, euro shams and decorative pillows for the master, a duvet cover and shams for the spare (and maybe a throw pillow or two). 

Plus there will be painting and an eventual bit of kitchen reno. 

And someday, far in the future, a basement gut and re-do. 

I am so excited friends, and I can't wait to get started!
