So it's 3 in the a.m. right now, and while I should likely be sleeping right now, I'm most definitely not. And that's not a good thing. But I've decided to use this mild case of insomnia/I'm a night owl to a more constructive end. But that's not where the story of tonight begins. So I'll start from the start.
So I got home from work this evening, and Alana was here with Karmyn. After we sat around, and vegetated and watched Sex and the City, Karmyn went to bed, and Alana and I went to Mac's for junk food. By Alana and I, I mean that Alana accompanied me, because I was jonesing for something hella unhealthy. So after we got back to the apartment, we watched movie trailers and random crap on YouTube for a bit. Then I brought the 4.5 milk crates of records that I brought from Shoal Lake out to the living room, and we sorted through them, sorting them by their sheer awesomeness. And let me tell you, Jane Fonda's Pre/During/Post Pregnancy workout album is pretty awesome :P
Going through all this music reminds me so much of Dad, and sitting around the kitchen table after supper, with Mom and Dad talking about different songs, and trying to remember if they've foisted them upon Bob and I yet. Then Dad would try to sing one of them, and when we didn't get it, he'd bolt into the living room to either play us a record, or in later years, to download it to play it for us.
And so here I am now, all hopped up on sugar and a coffee based energy drink (that was a brilliant idea Brynne), downloading music. Lots and lots of it. Chris DeBurgh, and Supertramp and Molly Hatchet (which makes me want to learn the guitar and start a tribute band, any takers?).
And I think while I'm grooving to Molly Hatchet, I'm going to clean my room. Cause going to bed now is just going to result in my sleeping way too late in the morning, and running late for my date with Sarah, and not getting to bed on time again tomorrow, and I have to get up early on Wed for work, so sleeping in is NOT an option for Wednesday.
Or is productivity overrated, and I'll just continue trolling for awesome music?
Only time will tell. See you all in the morning.
