Sadness! And Happiness!

I am so totally bummed right now! We finally got to put up our Christmas tree tonight. Mom, Dad and Bob made the decision to wait till I got home. Thursday night, I went to Janna's, and I'll get into why we didn't set it up last night later in this post.

Anywho, so we were setting up the tree, and we were about to start putting on the lights when I figured out what was missing.

So I go over to the bookcase where we have a bunch of cds and tapes, and I find our tape of Tom Jackson's Huron Carol. I can't remember a year that we didn't decorate to either that or our Mickey Mouse Christmas cd (which is missing). So I run to my room, and grab my cd/tape player, and put on the tape. It sounded plain scary. It was all slowed down and distorted. So to determine if it was the tape or the player, we got a couple other tapes. Our Decker Christmas tape worked fine, but our Yuletide Guitars tape was all gnarly as well. So hopefully my Huron Carol tape isn't fried. Cause if it is, I will seriously cry. A lot. I adore it.

So, on to why we didn't set up the tree last night. Our big Christmas present from Dad and Mom, to all of us, them included, arrived last night at around 5:00 pm. A very big Christmas present. A large, black, 54 inch high Christmas present.

But that picture doesn't really capture the size of this freaking thing. So here's me standing next to it. Sorry about the quality, these were taken with my cell phone, cause my digital camera was lacking batteries at the moment.

This television is almost as freaking tall as I am.

So instead of putting up a tree last night, we watched the Blues Brothers (I heart Dan Akroyd!) and ate oodles of popcorn. And generally had a rockin' good time. Movie night's at my house next time. I seriously considered just dropping out of school and moving back home. Education? Bah, who needs it. There are movies to be watched!
