(A very patriotic) Grrr...

So, I was mucking about on YouTube, and I remembered that Janna said that she had put some of videos from the Franklin Graham Festival up. So, I decided to go check them out. (Ugh, Michael W. Smith. Beautiful and amazing. I kind of wish I had gone for that night) Then I went and watched the vid of the SA Outtatown peeps singing the anthem. And I was really angered by some of the comments. Many of them getting all hostile because they only sang the first verse. Hello? These guys (and gals) were there for 3 months. They had other (better) things to do, but they still took the time to learn the anthem at all. The Canadian national anthem has more than 1 verse. But we only sing the one. Most kids nowadays probably don't know that 4 verses to O Canada exist. I remember going out of my way to learn the second verse in Grade 7. How many of them have even heard of The Maple Leaf Forever?

How many Americans can sing O Canada at all? How many Americans know the last 3 verses of the Star Spangled Banner? I can play The Star Spangled Banner (from memory-right hand only) on the piano. People should stop hatin'.

O Canada!

O Canada!
Our home and native land!
True patriot love in all thy sons command.
With glowing hearts we see thee rise,
The True North strong and free!
From far and wide,
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada! Where pines and maples grow.
Great prairies spread and lordly rivers flow.
How dear to us thy broad domain,
From East to Western Sea,
The land of hope for all who toil!
The True North, strong and free!
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

O Canada! Beneath thy shining skies
May stalwart sons and gentle maidens rise,
To keep thee steadfast through the years
From East to Western Sea,
Our own beloved native land!
Our True North, strong and free!
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.

Ruler supreme, who hearest humble prayer,
Hold our dominion within thy loving care;
Help us to find, O God, in thee
A lasting, rich reward,
As waiting for the Better Day,
We ever stand on guard.
God keep our land glorious and free!
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
O Canada, we stand on guard for thee.
