So, my mom sent me this email. It was a scan of an article from a copy of Housekeeping Monthly from 1955. And as I was reading it, I felt so many different emotions at once.
First, I was amused. I mean, reading it, it seems pretty silly.
Then, I was angry. I realized that when this article was written, it was not supposed to be funny. It was serious. They really meant what they're saying in that article. This article was a guideline for being a good wife.
Finally, I was grateful. I mean, how far have we come as women? Seriously. It is so satisfying to see how much society has changed. I mean, in a lot of respects, we still have a ways to go, but we're doing so much better than we were then. We can vote, hold high paying jobs. It is totally acceptable for a woman to wear the pants.
Girl Power!!

The article kinda makes me gag....Bascally, we're treating them like they're two years old. I have so many words. But nevermind, Brynne, you're adorable

BTW Amma said it did not seem right to her, since she was married in 1953, and she said that it did not seem correct to her, and it was probbly older, or a reprint
