La La La

I know, wicked bad post title. It's so inspired. I think I deserve a Pulitzer, or a Grammy, or something. I know you all agree with me. *rolls eyes* So, here's the general rundown. We had SCA Twelfth Night thing this weekend. Lots of fun, and lots to do. It was fun. I actually talked to people, and got to know some people a little bit. So that was good. Plus, it was a Ukrainian themed event, and when can you go wrong with perogies? That's what I said. Never. Plus, the ham was AMAZING!
And then afterwards, we went to the baron and baronesses house for a little afterparty thing. I don't use their names because I don't know how to spell them. And that was fun. Just a bunch of people sitting around and talking and laughing. So I sat there, and I watched Elli play with TJs hair. TJ, doll, if you ever read this, it's your own fault for having such nice hair. Nice hair draws girls like a magnet. If only because they wish it was theirs. But yeah. So around 1, Clare and Anna were like "So, you ready to go?" and I was like "Whenever you are." Cut to one hour later, when we actually leave. During that hour, Elli, TJ and I had a rather interesting discussion about how not moving is great, unless there is something good that results from it. Like chocolate. But, eventually we did get home. And went immediately to bed. Then, this morning, we went to PA's for brunch. Lot's of super yummy food. And so we were all lounging around, and Master and Commander comes on. So we watched that. It's pretty funny. We've owned it for like, 3 or so years, and I've never watched it all the way through before. Stupid, huh? But anyways, after it was over, we went to go see Nanny McPhee. Ohmigoodness. So great. But really, how can you go wrong with Colin Firth? Ha, trick question. There is no way known to man to make Colin Firth anything less than totally and completely fantastic.
But yeah, so here I am now, tired and rather listless. I'm going to go to bed rather early tonight. Just don't have much to say.
Oh, right! Forgot about this. At court on Saturday, I totally ended up declaring myself as a member of the Barony. Which I wasn't planning on doing at this event. But Clare managed to twist my arm. "It's a really good event to do it at!" "There's no royalty here!" So, up I went with Gabriel and Jeff (hope I spelled those right). So, we go and do our little thing, and the baron says "Turn and introduce yourselves to the other members of the Barony" So we turn, and I get this nasty little premonition, and then it comes true. Gabriel (sp?) turns to me and says "Ladies first." I hate going first. That's why I always loved it when we did stuff at school in alphabetical order. Or even reverse alpabetical order. Because my last name is more or less in the middle. So I almost never had to go first. It wouldn't have been as bad if I had already chosen a cool SCA name for myself. But I haven't. I mean would it not have been cooler if I had been able to stand up and say "I am Aoibheann." or "My name is Brynja." But no. It was just little old me. But it was fun. Well, I'm out. Laters.

......what's a barony?

Sorry, as much as I'd love to post something funny and witty, not only do I not have the energy, but I'm completely lost. Totally and completely.

Kay, first things first.
The Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA) is a medieval recreation group. People have "personas" and they make period clothes. Alot of the guys (and some of the girls) are either fencers, archers, or heavy fighters. The fencers fence, the archers do the whole bow-and-arrow thing, and the heavy fighers dress up in armor and hit each other with sticks.
There are these groups all over the place, and there are different kingdoms. (Winnipeg is in the Kingdom of Northshield) Within each kingdom, there are different baronies. The same as there are for Girl Guides, and Weight Watchers, and any other kind of club. Winnipeg is the Barony of Castel Rouge. So I'm now a (non-paying, therefore non-official) member of the Barony of Castel Rouge.
