Temptation

And giving in to it.

That's right. That dear old Snickers bar is history. Totally. I went to the mall to meet Sarah and Rob. But they didn't show up. So I bought myself a scoop of Chai Tea Latte Gelato, and a little package of - get this - Eggnog fudge from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory to console myself. Yes that's right - Sarah, Rob - if you're reading this, it will be all your fault that I won't sleep tonight what with all the caffeine and sugar coursing through my system.
I also gave in and went to see RENT. I saw like, 2 clips online, and I was taken back to that moment that I saw the teaser when I went to a movie with Jan, and we were both like, wow. So I decided that since I would just end up spending the night at home alone anyways if I didn't go, that I would. (If I had been thinking, I would have called KB. I'm betting that she would have enjoyed it. But I really didn't decide that I was going until I was already there. Dang.)

Sweet tangy mother, it was breathtaking. I had heard that it was really a really intense emotional thing, so I went and bought a bunch of those little travel packs of Kleenex, cause the last time I saw a really intense emotional film, it was Rory O'Shea Was Here. And I couldn't breathe, I was crying so hard. But this was a totally different thing. It was amazing, and beautiful. It was one of those movies that makes you feel that tightness in your chest that usually comes before a good cry, but the crying part never really happens, because you're just so there. I don't know if anyone else will know what I mean. But it was wonderful. And it was really cool to see Rosario Dawson hold her own amongst all of the other actors, cause with the exception of her, and the chick that played Joanne, it was all the original Broadway cast. So that was beyond cool. Plus, in my humble, and untrained opinion, her singing was really good.

So immediately after I post this, I'm going over to my Christmas wishlist blog, and adding the movie soundtrack to my list of stuff I want. It was amazing and beautiful.

Although some of the people that I saw at the theatre, I was like "Aren't they too young for this movie?" But I think that it might just be that I'm getting old. I mean, my little brother is getting his learners permit in a month. And that is totally terrifying. I mean, when did I get old? When did he grow up? *sigh* Life is kind of brutal when you think about it.

I really hope I'm not too old, er, distinguished to appreciate Rent. I'll probably bawl like a baby because it'll take me back to my starving student/starving office worker days.

Your favorite distinguished guy, DMCSmash, was in a hurry to leave today, but as he was about to go out the door, I said, "Wanna get a fix of the Freshman? She posted, and it is so her!" So he came over to the computer, and read your post, plus the last 2 text posts besides. He sounded all excited, saying, "I'm gonna go get her on the 16th, ya know."
Aaaaawwwww!!
