Dear Cyclists...Love Motorists everywhere.

First of all, good for you for riding a bike. It's good for you and it's good for the environment, so I don't have a problem with you riding your bicycle.

However.
(Yeah, you all knew a 'however' was coming)

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD AND ALL THAT IS HOLY!! OBEY THE LAWS OF THE ROAD!!!!!!!!

First of all, you are not a pedestrian. So if you absolutely need to cross the street using a pedestrian corridor, GET OFF YOUR BIKE AND WALK IT ACROSS!! Don't just tear out into the street after pressing the button. You move faster than the average pedestrian. With an actual pedestrian we have a little more time to slow down and stop. Remember, we're bigger and heavier than you are. It will hurt you a lot more than it will hurt us.

Second, if you've accepted that you're a vehicle (albeit not a motorized one) THEN YOU'RE A VEHICLE!! Yes, stop signs and red lights apply to you. So you should stop when they tell you to. Because again, WE ARE BIGGER AND HEAVIER THAN YOU ARE! We take longer to slow down, and if we hit you, you would most definitely be getting the short end of the stick.

So let me just say:

Every time I see a cyclist do/about to do something embarassingly stupid, I say to myself "Try it again you idiot, it'll hurt you a lot more than it'll hurt me. If I hit you, I might get charged with vehicular manslaughter, but you'd be dead, and the world would be rid of one moron."
